Accessible only by boat, Singer Castle on Dark Island overlooks the St. Lawrence Seaway across from Chippewa Bay. Built by millionaire Frederick Gilbert Bourne, the castle was completed in 1905 as a surprise for his wife and children. The four story structure is comprised of 28 rooms, a series of secret passages, a boat house and a tower. Group tours are available from May to October at various times.
